Job summary

Bell Lumber & Pole Co. is seeking a Lumber Yard Laborer in Lewiston, ID to measure, cut, and trim wooden poles to length, drill to customer specifications, and perform routine maintenance. The job is outdoors in all weather with a Monday–Friday schedule and possible overtime.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
Experience: Outdoor work, using a tape measure, and working with a chainsaw; heavy machinery and log handling a plus.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, trim, and drill wooden poles using a tape measure, hand tools and power tools.
Assist other employees with moving wood across the yard, into storage locations, and/or in and out of trucks and rail cars as needed.
Understand written documents for proper handling of customer products.
Understand basic safe use of shop tools and perform basic machine maintenance.
Maintain effective communication with co-workers concerning operational needs.
Startup and shutdown of equipment, including safety protocols.
Perform annual and other maintenance on equipment as needed.
Adhere to OSHA safety rules and Bell safety standards and procedures.
