The role involves operating backhoes, loaders, graders, dump trucks, rollers, street sweepers, and other specialized equipment to maintain infrastructure and public spaces in Madison, SD.

Work is outdoors in varying weather; duties include repairs, snow removal, and utility-related tasks. After-hours emergencies and evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders, motor graders, dump trucks, rollers, street sweepers, and refuse collection trucks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment used for street, parks, solid waste and recycling operations.
• Assist with street repairs, snow removal, storm cleanup, sign installation and repair, and right-of-way maintenance.
• Work outdoors in varying weather, perform physically demanding tasks, and respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
