Job summary

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is seeking skilled Equipment Operators to perform operation and inspection of trucks and heavy equipment used in maintaining park grounds, trails, and amenities. This role works year-round in various weather conditions, including snow removal and ice control to ensure safe access for the public.

Responsibilities include operating a wide range of equipment, completing tasks with crew leaders, and using mobile devices to track work orders.

Qualifications

• CDL required with heavy equipment experience
• Forklift certification required; training after hire
• Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Must obtain Class A CDL with non-restricted air brake and tanker endorsement within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect CDL and non-CDL equipment to standards and regulations.
• Maintain park grounds, turf, trails, gardens, and facilities.
• Perform snow removal and ice control on trails and sidewalks.
• Assist forestry activities including tree and debris removal and pruning.
• Track assets and work orders using mobile tech.
• Promote safe work practices and report safety issues.
• Work with crew leaders on tasks and projects.
