Job summary

Berkshirejobs is seeking a town Public Works worker to conduct tasks related to the operation and maintenance of town roads, storm drains, snow removal, earthwork, tree maintenance, traffic control, and other duties as required. Under the supervision of the Public Works Operations Supervisor, work occurs in all weather conditions and involves operating a wide range of equipment.

You may be required to respond outside regular hours for snow plowing and urgent tasks, while wearing safety equipment

• Operate trucks, snowplows, backhoes, front-end loaders, excavators, power tools and hand tools as needed.
• Maintain town roads, storm drains, snow removal, earthwork, tree maintenance, traffic control, and related duties.

Conduct all necessary tasks related to the operation and maintenance of town roads, storm drains, snow removal, earthwork, tree maintenance, traffic control, and other associated duties as required.

Works under the general supervision of the Public Works Operations Supervisor. Work is performed in all weather conditions. Operates trucks, snowplows, spreaders, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, power tools, hand tools, chain saws, mowers, trimmers, shovels, rakes and brooms etc. Have occasional contact with the public requiring tact and sensitivity. Able to follow instruction and cooperate with colleagues. You must wear safety equipment when needed or directed. Must be available outside of regular business hours for snow plowing and other urgent tasks requiring immediate attention.
