Job summary

Prince William County Public Works, Solid Waste Division seeks a Grounds Maintenance Crew Lead to supervise a field crew responsible for 400+ acres at the County Landfill, including mowing, litter pickup, erosion control, and related tasks. This is a working lead role with emphasis on safety, direction, and performance.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years in grounds maintenance and some supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of full-time grounds maintenance experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and work with a team performing grounds maintenance and litter collection.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign work; inspect and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Promote safety through meetings and safe work practices.
• Document work with logs, reports, and vehicle inspections.
• Mentor and train new hires; operate and maintain vehicles and tools.
