Job summary

Prince William County Public Works, Solid Waste Division is seeking a full-time Grounds Maintenance Crew Lead to supervise a team responsible for over 400 acres of grounds at the County Landfill, including erosion and sediment control, mowing, litter collection, and sweeping. This role offers an opportunity to serve the community and support environmental stewardship.

The Crew Lead will plan and inspect work, mentor staff, operate vehicles and equipment, and ensure safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of full-time grounds maintenance experience.
• Supervisory/crew lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow laws, regulations, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead grounds maintenance and litter collection work.
• Plan, assign, and inspect daily tasks for the crew.
• Promote safety and conduct safety meetings.
• Maintain records, daily logs, and vehicle inspections.
• Mentor new hires on policies and SOPs.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment.
• Interact respectfully with customers and coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
