Job summary

Under Canvas in Moab, UT is seeking a 2027 Front of House Manager to oversee restaurant service and bar operations, support the Food & Beverage Manager, and ensure service standards, guest satisfaction, and team engagement in an outdoor lodge setting.

You will manage seating, coordinate with the guest experience team, mentor staff, and help control costs while delivering memorable experiences near national parks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Food Safety Manager Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Food & Beverage supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of federal food safety standards and/or food service certifications.
• Willingness to travel to support Task Force roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage guest seating and dining flow utilizing reservations and waitlists while maximizing table turnover.
• Partner with the Guest Experience Team to facilitate guest special occasion needs.
• Maintain professional communication with guests and across departments.
• Ensure all service standards are implemented.
• Support healthy vendor relationships.
• Encourage guests and team members to provide feedback using various platforms.
• Hold daily pre-shift standups, communicate daily business updates, and participate in weekly property leadership meetings.
• Possess knowledge of food and beverage menus, property amenities, and hours of operation.
• Assist with direct service on the floor during meal periods and engage with guests through table touches.
• Generate new ideas for services and products and partner with the Food & Beverage Manager and Corporate team on implementation.
• Support the Food & Beverage Manager in implementing and following departmental procedures.
• Share ideas, best practices, and challenges with the team and encourage input when making decisions.
• Coach and mentor Food & Beverage team members to increase performance and support career growth.
• Deliver candid feedback to team members.
