Job summary

Bermex, Inc. is seeking a Line Locator Technician to detect and locate underground utilities. You will receive tickets from the 811 system, read maps, and mark locations with color-coded spray paint.

This role demands high physical activity, keen attention to detail, and flexibility to adapt daily schedules. You will work outdoors in varying weather and document work with a camera and laptop.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of line locating experience.
• Must provide OQ training certificates and a valid driver’s license.
• High school level education acceptable; willingness to learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Receive work tickets from the 811 system.
• Read and interpret utility maps showing underground utilities.
• Use magnetic sensing equipment to identify the location of lines and pipes.
• Mark locations with color-coded spray paint (electric, water, gas, etc.).
• Work in various weather conditions and use shovels as needed to pin-point locations.
• Provide records of work performed using a digital camera and laptop.
• Follow safety guidelines and report issues to supervision.
