Job summary

Garmin International in the Greater Kansas City area is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician - Outdoor at Garmin's U.S. headquarters.

You will be responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying basic developmental and production equipment and systems. The role involves hands-on electrical/mechanical work, including circuit layout, reading schematics, wiring practices, prototyping, and operating lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience in electronics or related field.
• Demonstrates ability to apply test processes and methods to verify design and products performance.
• Reads schematics and debug basic circuits from system level to component level.

Responsibilities

• Layout electronic circuits.
• Read schematics and debug basic circuits to component level.
• Diagnose wiring problems and create wiring diagrams with assistance.
• Prototype and troubleshoot PCB and unit mods; document results.
• Operate lab test equipment (PCB mills, meters, scopes, analyzers).
• Document work clearly and collaborate with Garmin associates.
