Job summary

Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya, part of the YMCA, seeks an Outdoor Education & Retreats Director to lead outdoor education programs and rental experiences for youth and families. You will design curricula, coordinate schedules, supervise staff, and oversee daily operations, with on-site residency in provided housing.

You'll build school and community partnerships, manage budgets, ensure safety and ACA/state compliance, and contribute to year-round programming through leadership on camp teams and weekend

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, recreation, outdoor pursuits, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years in education, outdoor programming, or youth development; supervisory experience preferred.
• Lifeguarding certification including CPR, First Aid, and AED required (training provided).
• ACCT Level 2 Certification required within 2 months of hire (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Design and administer outdoor education and retreat programs with schools and community groups.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate seasonal instructors and volunteers.
• Develop and manage the program budget and support grant efforts.
• Ensure safety and compliance with state and ACA standards; complete annual inspections of challenge courses.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, parents, and group leaders.
• Support year-round programming and leadership on camp teams.
