Job summary

Greater Green Bay YMCA is seeking an Outdoor Education Instructor to deliver school-based programs at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya, guiding experiential learning that builds environmental understanding, personal growth, and positive group dynamics.

The role involves leading lessons, coordinating activities, and maintaining a safe learning space while engaging with school groups and chaperones, year-round outdoors. Strong communication and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated youth leadership experience; strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; and a cooperative, team-focused attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Studies, Education, or related field preferred.
• Desire and ability to work with school-age students and respond to their developmental needs.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned participant groups in outdoor education programming using structured lessons and clear expectations to ensure a safe, inclusive learning experience.
• Develop, implement, and teach experiential curriculum with hands-on outdoor lessons to strengthen students’ skills and environmental awareness.
• Facilitate group activities such as campfires, night hikes, and games to create community-building experiences.
