Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking staff for summer/camp programs to provide exceptional guest services, safety, and education. You will lead outdoor activities, supervise participants, and ensure a positive, inclusive environment across diverse groups.

Responsibilities include teaching outdoor education, coordinating recreational activities such as archery and climbing, and maintaining participant safety. On-site housing is provided for staff during the camp season.

• Ability to pass background check and initial drug test.
• Ability to move on site (shared housing provided).
• Ability to share housing with other on-site staff.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and perform all daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests and co-workers and provides excellent customer service by responding to questions and concerns.
• Presents to the guests in clean, designated uniform with impeccable hygiene.
• Acknowledges guests needs and provides effective and efficient solutions.
• Provides security for the YMCA, ensuring the safety of guests and co-workers while at the Camp Cullen.
• Responds to situations with the possibility of removing members or non-members who act inappropriately.
• Responds to all incidents within the Y and completes Incident Reports.
• Follows YMCA policies and safety procedures and instructions.
• Understands all emergency procedures and completes incident reports.
