Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a youth activities facilitator to plan, instruct, and supervise sports and group activities for children and families. You will promote core values and ensure a safe, welcoming environment in gym or field settings.

The role emphasizes interactive learning, positive engagement, and leadership in a community-focused culture. Prior childcare experience is valued, with CPR/First Aid training encouraged within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 18 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of hire.
• Oral, auditory and written communication skills for interactions with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and relate to them positively.
• Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA core values and character development in all activities.
• Plans and teaches sport drills to grow participant skills.
• Facilitates informal games and scrimmages.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness standards and program area.
• Keeps program records and assists with setup/breakdown.
• Engages youth in safe, fun, educational activities.
