Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s PennDOT is seeking a CDL Operator in Potter County to operate trucks and construction equipment, perform manual labor, and support highway and bridge maintenance. This is a full-time, outdoor, field-based role with daytime hours and seasonal adjustments.

The position requires an active Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with Air Brake and Manual Transmission restrictions removed, a Medical Examiner's Certificate, and DOT certifications within the probationary period.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania CDL Class A or B license with Air Brake and Manual Transmission restrictions removed.
• Demonstrated ability to operate equipment with a manual transmission.
• Medical Examiner's Certificate required under FMCSA regulations.
• DOT certifications for heavy trucks, loaders, and two additional pieces of equipment within probation.
• Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) required during probation and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders, and other construction equipment as assigned.
• Perform manual labor using hand tools and motorized tools to support maintenance tasks.
• Complete minor repairs, make field adjustments, and clean equipment for safe operation.
• Follow proper safety procedures, identify hazards, and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist mechanics, install tire chains, erect signs, cut brush, and perform outdoor tasks.
