Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, PennDOT, seeks a CDL Operator to operate heavy equipment, support maintenance crews, and help keep roads in good condition. You will learn new skills, work with experienced teammates, and serve your community through daily fieldwork.

Scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with possible winter-hour variations and overtime. Telework is not available; salary details may vary by start date and location.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program or graduation from a CDL training school.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.
• Active Pennsylvania Class A or B CDL with Air Brake Restriction removed.
• Active Medical Examiner’s Certificate and Tank Vehicle Endorsement during probation.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders, and other equipment as assigned.
• Maintain proper licensing and perform daily equipment checks.
• Perform flagger duties to support safe work zones.
• Carry out maintenance tasks using tools and assist mechanics as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report incidents promptly.
