Job summary

Boston College is seeking a Field Supervisor to lead daily operations of outdoor athletic facilities across campus, ensure safe, high-quality playing surfaces, and supervise staff. The role collaborates with the Athletic Maintenance Manager on staffing, budgeting, and capital projects, and supports event setup, snow coverage, and maintenance of turf and equipment.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience in a union environment, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of turfgrass

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience maintaining high quality natural and synthetic athletic fields.
• Experience in NCAA athletic field marking and painting.
• Experience maintaining clay infield diamond surfaces.
• Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field.
• Massachusetts Hoisting license is preferred.
• Massachusetts Commercial Pesticide Applicators License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations, staffing and maintenance schedule for outdoor athletic facilities.
• Collaborate with Athletic Maintenance Manager on staffing, budgeting, project planning and forecasting.
• Coordinate event coverage, snow removal and setup/breakdown of events.
• Ensure quality control of daily staff tasks and safe playing surfaces.
• Assist with capital construction and renewal projects.
• Maintain equipment, irrigation systems, and turf maintenance activities.
• Support campus events at Conte Forum/Hoag Pavilion when needed.
