Job summary

Sysco Harrisburg is hiring a Warehouse Associate to hand-build pallets and load trailers according to company standards at the Harrisburg distribution center. You will read pick sheets, select products, label and stack pallets, and operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.

We value candidates with a high school diploma or GED, and 6 months of warehouse experience (or equivalent). Forklift and pallet jack certification are required; strong safety and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent.
• Forklift and pallet jack certification required.
• Read, write and communicate in English as it relates to job and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reads pick sheets and travels to proper warehouse locations using a pallet jack.
• Picks proper product type and quantity, labels products and places on a pallet and loads the pallet on trucks.
• Handles products and builds pallets according to food safety guidelines and protects from damage or cross-contamination.
• Maintains warehouse cleanliness and safety, and takes corrective actions for spills or damages.
• Communicates with management regarding issues like product availability, safety concerns or out-of-stocks.
• Operates all warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) safely and reports issues to management.
• Completes all paperwork and uses a wearable computer to track time spent on assignments.
• Works assigned schedule with regular attendance and may work overtime as needed.
