Job summary

GPC operates a distribution center in California and seeks an Outbound Supervisor to oversee pulling, sorting, packing, and loading freight, ensuring accurate paperwork and secure nightly closures.

You will train staff, schedule shifts, manage shipping documentation, and uphold safety and security policies while driving efficiency in outbound operations. This role emphasizes leadership, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Complies with all safety requirements pertaining to job functions and general Distribution Center safety requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
• Strong organizational skills detail oriented.
• Ability to use good judgment in order to carry out detailed instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be capable of lifting/moving heavy items up to 60 lbs.
• Must be forklift and pallet jack certified.

Responsibilities

• Instructs employees on how to perform work and monitors progress.
• Trains and develops employees for efficient operation.
• Schedules team hours for peak periods.
• Processes and ships cross/docks and other orders.
• Processes outbound orders.
• Manages picking, sorting and truck loading.
• Reconciles truck loads nightly.
• Manages shuttle truck orders and truck loading.
• Prints BOL shipping documents for freight trucks.
• Oversees pulling and shipping aspects of the DC daily.
• Ensures adherence to safety and security procedures.
• Maintains compliance with supplier guidelines for returns.
• Opens and closes DC facilities and ensures security.
