Job summary

Macy's, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Outbound Transportation to lead store delivery transportation and delivery hub operations from a fulfillment center in California.

You will collaborate with SDC operations and carriers to optimize speed, cost, and service, reporting to the Senior Manager, Outbound Transportation. In this role you plan routing, integrate inbound/outbound moves, communicate plans to store teams, manage carrier performance, partner with finance on budgets, and develop a positive

• Ability to lead store delivery transportation operations and delivery hub operations.
• Skill in planning and optimizing routing plans.
• Excellent communication to share plans with store operations.
• Proficient collaboration with operations to align operating models.
• Strong analytical skills to use data for cost and performance improvements.
• Experience managing performance of delivery providers via KPIs.
• Understanding of finance for monthly budgeting and metrics.
• Commitment to developing team members.
• Familiarity with transportation management tools like Blue Yonder.
• Effective problem-solving to address issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Lead store delivery transportation for the SDC and delivery hubs.
• Plan and optimize daily and seasonal routing plans in partnership with Transportation Optimization.
• Integrate inbound and outbound transportation moves to optimize efficiency.
• Communicate transportation plans and policies to store operations and handle questions.
• Maintain best-in-class partnerships with carriers.
• Collaborate with operations to align operating models and deliver the best possible service to stores and customers.
• Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for cost and performance improvement.
• Ensure site equipment is properly maintained and communicate replacement needs.
• Manage the performance of dedicated and third-party delivery providers through KPIs.
• Partner with finance on monthly budget planning and key financial metrics.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and backgrounds with colleagues, customers, and communities.
