Job summary

Werner Co. is seeking an experienced logistics planner to ensure on-time shipping and service goals across assigned customers and locations. You will serve as the primary owner for orders, coordinate with 3rd party carriers and warehouses, and drive inventory accuracy and fulfillment performance.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and familiarity with JD Edwards or SAP. Collaboration with IT, sales, and distribution centers is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of direct experience in logistics planning or order fulfillment.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel and Word; JD Edwards or SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for outbound planning; liaison between 3rd party transportation, warehouses, and customer care.
• Own orders for ProDriven Global Brands within assigned customers and locations.
• Use portals to obtain routing for collect and 3rd party customers (e.g., Home Depot, Lowe’s, Grainger, White Cap, Tractor Supply).
• Troubleshoot transaction errors with Werner and Redwood and request corrections as needed.
• Cube full truckloads with full bundle quantities for max load program using Excel or other tools.
• Measure and drive Werner Co.’s inventories and order fulfillment performance (on-time, fill rate, inventory accuracy, transportation costs).
• Use JD Edwards and BI to review inventory and orders at Werner Co. Distribution Centers.
• Coordinate order and item updates using DRP in JD Edwards and supply planning.
• Plan collect / 3rd party shipments for assigned customers in JD Edwards to generate shipping dispatch sheets.
• Update customer trackers in Microsoft teams and provide data to sales teams.
• Utilize and create BI tools to gain efficiencies and audits to improve inventory journey.
• Participate in various project teams as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements.

Job description

This position is responsible for achieving the on-time shipping and other service goals for customer orders at all ProDriven Global Brands locations within assigned customer(s), trade channel(s), and location(s).

Responsibilities:

• Point of contact for outbound planning. Key liaison between 3rd party transportation, warehouses, and customer care.
• Order “owner” for ProDriven Global Brands within customer(s), trade channel(s), and location(s) assignment.
• Utilize the necessary portals to acquire routing for collect and 3rd party customers, including but not limited to Home Depot, Lowe’s, Grainger, White Cap, and Tractor Supply.
• Troubleshoot transaction errors between Werner and Redwood (3rd party transportation provider) and correct as needed, or request order admin corrections on pricing, etc. to process properly.
• Cubing full truckloads with full bundle quantities for customers utilizing max load program, excel, or other tools.
• Measure and drive Werner Co.’s inventories and customer order fulfillment performance including but not limited to service level (on-time and fill rate, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs). Coordinates with IT, Customer Care, Production Planning, Supply Planners, Warehouses, and Customers as needed.
• Use ProDriven Global Brands Systems (JDE E1 and BI) to review related information for inventory and orders at Werner Co. Distribution Centers.
• Coordinate order and item updates for assigned customers, utilizing DRP in JD Edwards and supply planning
• Plan collect / 3rd party shipments for assigned customers in JD Edwards to generate shipping dispatch sheets for the warehouses.
• Update various customer excel trackers in Microsoft teams and provide data to the sales teams and other internal customers when required.
• Utilize and create BI tools to gain efficiencies and audits to improve the inventory journey for our customers.
• Participates in various project teams as necessary.

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

Skills and Abilities

• Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel and Word. Knowledge of JD Edwards or SAP a plus.
• Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as solid oral and written communication skills.
• Quick response times to instant messages and emails utilizing our operating system and knowledge of this system for timely and accurate responses.
• Must have demonstrated indirect leadership abilities and be able to adjust to changing priorities.
• Preferred background in a consumer durable product line with experience servicing a multi-channel environment, specifically with bulky and difficult to handle product.
