Job summary

Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a Shipping & Receiving -Outbound (Transportation) Coordinator to oversee outbound shipments at the plant level, ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery of inventory and finished goods.

You will partner with production and sales to coordinate orders, process bills of lading and shipping documents, organize the shipping office, and develop routes to optimize delivery times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of administrative support experience in a professional setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Shipping documentation: process bills of lading and shipping documents to ensure proper documentation.
• Shipping office management: keep the shipping office stocked and organized for daily operations.
• Route organization: develop routes to optimize delivery times and costs.
• Outbound shipment coordination: coordinate outbound shipments with sales and production.
• Carrier & customer communication: liaise with shippers, carriers, and customers to expedite deliveries and resolve issues.
• Team communication: communicate with production and sales to align on schedules and inventory.
• Shipping department monitoring: report on productivity and ensure adherence to standards.
• Leadership support: step in as Traffic Manager or Shipping Supervisor as needed.
• Additional tasks: perform other duties to support shipping and transportation functions.
