Job summary

Simon & Schuster is seeking a Shipping Coordinator for our Jackson, TN warehouse to oversee daily outbound shipping operations. You will ensure orders are processed, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule, working with carriers, internal teams, and warehouse staff.

The role focuses on coordinating shipments, maintaining records, and supporting efficient workflows while upholding safety and compliance standards. The position is on-site with a 2nd shift from 3:30pm to Midnight.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in warehouse shipping, logistics, or distribution operations.
• Experience with WMS, ERP systems, and shipping software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily outbound shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and carrier labels.
• Schedule shipments with carriers and arrange freight pickups.
• Communicate with internal teams regarding shipping status and issues.
• Verify orders for accuracy before shipment and ensure correct quantities and packaging.
• Monitor shipment tracking and resolve delivery issues or delays.
• Maintain shipping records and update WMS/ERP systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and shipping standards.
• Assist with inventory checks related to outbound shipments.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize urgent orders.
• Identify opportunities to improve shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
