Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 annually

A customer’s experience with our brands depends on more than the products we make. It also depends on those products being picked, packed, and shipped safely, accurately, and on time.

At Fenix Outdoor, we’re looking for an experienced Outbound Operations Manager to lead the people, processes, and daily priorities behind our outbound distribution operations. You will oversee order fulfilment, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, and outbound inventory flow within our multi-brand Aurora Distribution Center.

This is a role for someone who enjoys developing leaders, bringing clarity to complex operations, and using data to turn challenges into practical improvements. You will help create a safe, accountable, and engaged workplace while ensuring our teams consistently deliver the quality and service our customers expect.

What You Will Do

As our Outbound Operations Manager, you will lead the daily execution and continued development of our outbound warehouse operations, balancing people leadership, customer commitments, productivity, safety, and long-term operational improvement.

Outbound Operations
  • Lead outbound warehouse functions, including order picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, wave planning, trailer loading, carrier compliance, and outbound inventory accuracy
  • Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and shipped on time
  • Develop daily and seasonal labor plans based on order volume, business priorities, and forecasted demand
  • Balance staffing and workload across multiple shifts to support productivity and service goals
  • Communicate operational priorities clearly throughout the department
  • Partner closely with Inventory, Inbound, Transportation, Customer Service, Planning, IT, and other Distribution Center teams
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop Warehouse Supervisors, Team Leads, Key Trainers, and hourly associates
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback, coaching, performance reviews, and development planning
  • Build a high-performing culture grounded in safety, accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Identify and develop high-potential employees while supporting succession planning
  • Partner with Human Resources and operational leaders on recruitment, onboarding, retention, recognition, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Create an environment where employees understand how their work contributes to the success of the team and to the experience of our customers
Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor operational performance through measures such as labor efficiency, order cycle time, on-time shipping, pick and packing accuracy, capacity utilization, overtime, and cost per order
  • Analyze daily operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives that simplify workflows, reduce waste, and improve productivity
  • Develop and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures
  • Improve warehouse layout, slotting, replenishment methods, labor allocation, and outbound workflow
  • Support capital improvement projects, warehouse expansion initiatives, system enhancements, and automation efforts
  • Use sound judgment to balance cost management with safety, quality, employee wellbeing, and customer service
Safety, Quality, & Training
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards
  • Conduct safety audits, facility inspections, incident reviews, and corrective action planning
  • Maintain high standards for outbound order accuracy, inventory integrity, and shipping quality
  • Lead root-cause analysis when defects, errors, or operational issues occur
  • Partner with Key Trainers and department leaders to maintain effective onboarding and cross-training programs
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on equipment, safety procedures, shipping processes, warehouse systems, RF technology, and Standard Operating Procedures
Systems & Operational Planning
  • Use warehouse technologies and reporting tools, including WMS, ERP and transportation systems, RF scanners, labor management systems, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI
  • Support WMS optimization and system improvements that strengthen visibility and operational efficiency
  • Managed departmental labor budgets, overtime utilization, workforce scheduling, and staffing allocation
  • Help ensure the operation is prepared for seasonal demand, changing priorities, and future growth
What Makes You a Great Fit

You are a steady, hands-on leader who can see both the people and processes behind a successful distribution center. You are comfortable walking the floor, coaching a supervisor, reviewing performance data, resolving an urgent shipping issue, and planning for the demands ahead.
