Job summary

Capital Electric Supply is seeking an inventory control professional to manage 3rd party outbound logistics. The role focuses on coordinating, processing, and monitoring shipments with 3PLs (UPS, FedEx, etc.) to ensure timely, accurate delivery.

You will handle shipping docs, BOLs, packing slips, and freight terms while aligning with SWMS and carrier portals. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in logistics, experience with 3PLs, and proficiency in Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, distribution, or warehouse operations.
• Experience working with Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers and transportation carriers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and logistics management systems.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, freight terms, and transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and schedule outbound shipments using SWMS and carrier portals.
• Coordinate daily shipping activities with third-party logistics providers, warehouses, and transportation carriers.
• Generate and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, packing slips, shipping labels, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
• Ensure accurate shipment routing, carrier selection, and freight classification.
• Verify order accuracy before shipment release using SWMS.
• Coordinate inventory transfers between distribution centers, warehouses, and customer locations.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipment shortages, overages, and damages.
• Maintain accurate records of freight movements and inventory transactions.
• Communicate with carriers regarding pickup schedules, shipment status, freight claims, and delivery issues where needed.
• Respond to Sales team members regarding customer inquiries regarding shipping status, delivery schedules, and transportation issues.
• Coordinate return shipments and reverse logistics activities.
• Support internal and external audits as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics operations.
