Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Outage Manager to lead complex planned and emergent outage events for steam turbine and generator outages, coordinating safety, quality, delivery, and cost across large teams. The role includes planning, customer management, and continuous process improvement on a national scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering or equivalent experience in power generation
• English proficiency required
• Field Engineer or TFA graduate or equivalent training

Responsibilities

• Support outage event preparation and execution from start to finish (planning, labor, tooling, cost, and customer management)
• Own onsite execution as site lead with large teams, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost
• Manage on-job cost tracking and productivity while addressing risks/FMEA
• Drive on-time delivery and cost productivity; maintain and update tracking files and man-hour pacing
• Assist in project quotation development including scope, site checks, safety and risk analyses
• Support customer operations during shut-down, start-up, running and performance testing
• Ensure proper execution documentation (Field Procedures, Quality Procedures, EHS)
• Work with web systems for labor, tooling, and vendor management forecasting
• Respond to outages promptly and escalate issues to restore operation
• Support customer communications during outage execution
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes
• Travel 40–50% as required
• May take on other duties to align with GE Steam Power strategies
