Job summary

White Mountain Regional Medical Center seeks an Out-Patient Representative to register and schedule surgical procedures, imaging and other services. This non-clinical role supports a patient-centered culture and works under the Manager of Patient Financial Services.

You will provide patients with location and appointment information, physician referrals, and answers to questions. Some independent judgment in scheduling and registration may be required.

Job description

The Out-Patient Representative position is a non-clinical staff position responsible for registering and scheduling surgical procedures, diagnostic imaging and other ancillary services. Through collaboration with all members of the health-care team, strives to support a patient centered culture and gain knowledge and skills to further the practice of the quality of patient services provided at WMRMC. Under the direction of the Manager of Patient Financial Services the representative is responsible for the coordination of patient care as it relates to outpatient procedures, provides patients with basic information regarding location, appointment information, physician referral/authorization and answers related questions. May be required to exercises independent judgement in applying knowledge required to facilitate the processes of scheduling appointments, pre-registering and registration of patients.

Required Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1 year experience in healthcare environment

Preferred Education Experience

• Patient scheduling experience
• Knowledge of health insurance benefits/coverage
• EMR experience

Required Licensees & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
