Job summary

General Motors LLC seeks a Validation Engineer to oversee OTA programming, coordinating multi-functional teams for software updates from inception through delivery.

You will collaborate with engineering, CX, and validation to ensure robust field performance, establish launch plans, and drive issue resolution using structured problem-solving methods. Travel to client sites domestically is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial and System Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Validation Engineer, Junior Data Analyst, Engineering Technician, or related occupation.
• Three (3) years of experience with database management including optimizing SQL queries in relational databases and big data platforms including Hive.
• Two (2) years of experience with 8D/5 Why problem solving, project management, automotive electrical systems and vehicle programming, operational process requirements, and software release tools including ECM, SPR, PRTS, GSIM, R2T2, GSPAS, Vehicle Control Application Management, Vehicle Spy and CANalyzer.
• One (1) year of experience with OTA update management.

Responsibilities

• Understand core strategies, feature requirements and UX requirements for OTA programming.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to support software updates from inception to delivery.
• Collaborate with Validation to develop and execute a robust validation plan.
• Establish launch plans for each assigned project and drive issue resolution.
• Document scalable processes for multi-functional teams.
