Job summary

Generac Power Systems in Waukesha, WI is seeking an OT Systems Engineer to design, deploy and secure connected OT systems across manufacturing facilities. This role connects plant-floor equipment with enterprise apps and analytics platforms to enable real-time monitoring and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years OT/Cloud/IoT experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and machine communications.
• Experience supporting manufacturing networks and industrial connectivity solutions.
• Experience building secure OT cloud compute and integrating equipment, sensors and systems with industrial data platforms.
• Experience collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT and Cybersecurity teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement connected factory solutions for equipment, test systems and assets.
• Standardize data collection using OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet.
• Connect assets to MES, CMMS, ERP, SCADA, historian and cloud systems.
• Develop machine data architectures and edge computing standards.
• Drive real-time monitoring and operational dashboards across the enterprise.
• Design and support OT-focused AWS environments and secure cloud architectures.
• Integrate CMMS and enable predictive maintenance using analytics and ML.
• Support OT cybersecurity, network segmentation, and incident response.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
