Job summary

Xcel Energy offers a long-term internship in the OT Support organization, focusing on EMS and NERC CIP compliance. The intern will gain exposure to documentation, evidence gathering, and support for the EMS team over 18 months, with a May 24, 2027 start and hybrid in-person requirements.

Eligible students are pursuing electrical engineering, computer science, MIS, drafting or electric design, with the ability to commit to 20–40 hours weekly depending on school schedule.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled as sophomore or higher.
• Enrolled in ABET-accredited college/university pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, MIS, drafting or electric design.
• Hybrid in-person work requirement: up to 40 hours/week in summer or up to 20 hours/week during school year.

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects to integrate new field devices into the SCADA system.
• Assist with graphical user interfaces to support transmission operations.
• Help with internal processes and documentation.
• Work with data analytics and assist in troubleshooting issues.
