Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a motivated college senior for a Converged Infrastructure internship in Denver, CO. This paid role offers hands-on work with enterprise IT infrastructure, including compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies, focusing on the regulatory OT environment.

Interns will collaborate with engineers and architects, gain exposure to automation, hardware lifecycle, and cross-functional problem solving, with potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Current student; junior or higher; pursuing CS/CE or related field.
• Able to commute to the Denver corporate office.
• Available to work full-time during summer and part-time during the school year.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining converged infrastructure systems (compute, storage, virtualization).
• Support automation efforts using scripting tools (PowerShell, Python).
• Participate in hardware lifecycle management (provisioning, upgrades, decommissioning).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Work with NERC CIP Reliability Standards in our OT environment.
• Document system configurations, processes, and best practices.
• Contribute to performance analysis and capacity planning.
