Principal Consultant - Cybersecurity, OT/ICS, IoT

Lawrence Harvey continues it's relationship with a growing energy storage integrator. They are seeking a Senior OT Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of industrial SCADA network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing connectivity across energy storage systems and customer sites.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of OT, cybersecurity, and renewable energy, driving the secure integration of next-generation energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement OT network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) for SCADA systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and commissioning teams to develop cost-effective, scalable solutions.
• Configure and optimize network devices for seamless communication between SCADA and enterprise systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, hardware failures, and connectivity issues.
• Implement and manage security measures (firewalls, IDS, VPNs) to protect against threats and ensure compliance.
• Maintain thorough documentation of network architecture and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct regular system audits, performance assessments, and risk evaluations.
• Integrate third-party vendor systems into existing SCADA architecture.
• Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams and support personnel.

Required Skills & Experience

• ~5 years of relevant experience in network and cybersecurity design for industrial systems (e.g., BESS, solar, utility-scale deployments).
• Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP) and industrial communication standards.
• Strong experience with Cisco, MOXA, and Aruba networking hardware.
• Hands-on experience in OT/SCADA environments, particularly in critical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of network security practices, including intrusion detection, VPNs, and IPSEC.
• Familiarity with ICS security tools and frameworks (NERC CIP preferred).
• Degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to operate in cross-functional teams.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or SCADA/cybersecurity-related credentials are a plus.
• Willingness to travel for site deployments and remote team collaboration.
