Job summary

Empower AI seeks an Operational Technology Engineer to support Army facility and utility infrastructure modernization. You will design, implement, and test OT systems, including SCADA, BAS, FRCS, UMCS, and metering networks, ensuring interoperability and security.

The role requires travel across CONUS/OCONUS, working with government stakeholders, vendors, and installation teams, and maintaining compliance with Army and DoD standards while pursuing continuous improvement in OT cybersecurity and

Qualifications

Current/active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operational Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
CompTIA Security+ certification required.
Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting OT/ICS/SCADA/BAS/FRCS/UMCS/industrial automation.
Experience installing, integrating, configuring, and supporting PLCs, RTUs, metering systems, SCADA platforms, BAS solutions, and OT networks.
Experience conducting site surveys, infrastructure assessments, requirements analysis, and engineering documentation development.
Experience developing engineering drawings, network diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and installation packages.
Experience supporting field deployments and working with customers, facility personnel, vendors, and project stakeholders.
Knowledge of OT networking, communications protocols, and system integration methodologies.
Ability to travel frequently throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys, requirements analysis, stakeholder interviews, infrastructure assessments, and data collection activities.
Develop Site Survey Reports, COAs, technical recommendations, cost estimates, BOMs, and modernization roadmaps.
Design, engineer, install, integrate, configure, and test OT solutions for Army facilities and utilities.
Perform installation, replacement, repair, modification, and upgrade activities for field devices.
Support deployment and sustainment of SCADA, FRCS, BAS, DDC, UMCS, and centralized management systems.
Develop engineering artifacts including SDPs, EIPs, network diagrams, wiring packages, migration plans, test plans, and as-built docs.
Design OT communications networks using BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, IP, serial, and vendor protocols.
Validate interoperability between control systems, enterprise platforms, cybersecurity solutions, and OT devices.
Conduct FAT/SAT, system validation, troubleshooting, and turnover activities.
Support OT modernization projects and cybersecurity implementation.
Provide training and turnover support; maintain documentation and lessons learned.
