Job summary

Xcel Energy in Golden, CO is offering a long-term internship within the Operation Technology (OT) Energy Management System team. You will gain hands-on experience with CIP documentation and compliance while supporting daily tasks and ticket triage.

As a current student, you’ll work 20–40 hours weekly and alternate between in-person work at a designated location and remote tasks, with development opportunities across OT infrastructure and associated systems.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher as of Fall 2027.
• Enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a degree in computer science, MIS, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, analytics, or business.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) or part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week); must commute to designated work location per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Develop skills for OT area and CIP documentation for meeting compliance requirements.
• Be available to learn OT infrastructure and provide support as assigned.
• Work with Team and assist with On-Prem ServiceNow (OP-SNOW) tickets assignment as per Change Management standards & guidelines.
• Stay focused on existing assignments and be available to learn new processes & procedures.
