Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minnesota offers a long-term internship in the Operation Technology (OT) Support organization. The 18-month program (20-40 hours weekly) provides exposure to the EMS Team and CIP compliance, with documentation and evidence gathering experiences.

Interns will gain hands-on experience across construction support, GUI for transmission operations, data analytics, and troubleshooting, with a May 24, 2027 start and potential extension based on performance.

Qualifications

• Current student, sophomore or higher enrolled in ABET-accredited program.
• Pursuing degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or MIS.
• Commitment to 20–40 hours/week and in-person hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects to incorporate new field devices into the SCADA system.
• Work with graphical user interface to support transmission operations.
• Assist with internal processes and documentation.
• Collaborate on data analytics and troubleshooting issues.
