Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current Maryland OT license.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and assist residents.
  • Preferred experience in skilled nursing or rehab settings.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to promote independence in self-care, mobility, and daily living skills.
  • Provide adaptive equipment recommendations and train residents and caregivers in proper use.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Nursing staff, and Social Services to ensure comprehensive care planning.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on techniques to maintain safety and improve functional performance.
  • Supervise and guide Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and support staff as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
