Job summary

The Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking an OST Lead Counselor to plan, lead and implement core and non-core programs for campers in small and large groups. You will ensure safety and support the growth and skill development of participants, aligning with YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience working with children.
• Experience working with youth in a group setting and creating and implementing lesson plans.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Multilingual ability is preferred.
• Chauffeur's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and implement core and non-core programs for campers in small and large groups.
• Ensure safety and support growth, development, and skill achievement of participants.
• Organize and implement daily camp schedules and a variety of activities.
• Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
• Maintain clean, safe camp facilities and report concerns to leadership.
• Communicate with parents about participants’ experiences and keep incident logs as required.
• Know and practice all emergency procedures and safety guidelines.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and exemplify diversity and inclusion.
