Job summary

Broadstaff is seeking an experienced OSP Field Inspector / OSP Construction Coordinator to support a large-scale fiber construction initiative across Northern Mississippi. You will inspect underground and aerial fiber work, document progress, and help keep deployment on schedule in the field.

This role emphasizes field reporting, redline updates, and coordination with construction crews. A valid driver's license and ability to travel locally are required; mileage and local travel are reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of underground and aerial fiber construction projects.

About the Opportunity

Broadstaff is seeking an experienced OSP Field Inspector / OSP Construction Coordinator to support a large-scale fiber construction initiative throughout Northern Mississippi. We're looking for professionals who understand OSP construction and enjoy being in the field, working alongside construction crews, documenting progress, updating redlines, and serving as the eyes and ears of the client's OSP Construction team. This is not a Construction Manager (CM) role. Instead, you'll focus on inspection, reporting, field documentation, and supporting construction operations that help keep fiber deployment projects running efficiently.

What You\'ll Do

• Perform field inspections of underground and aerial fiber construction projects
• Monitor contractor production and provide daily status reports
• Capture photos, measurements, and field documentation
• Update redlines and support as-built documentation efforts
• Verify construction methods and document field changes
• Communicate real-time field updates to internal OSP teams
• Identify, document, and escalate project issues when necessary
• Support construction coordinators responsible for multiple markets
• Travel throughout the assigned Northeast Alabama territory to active construction sites

What We\'re Looking For

• Experience in OSP telecom construction, utility construction, or fiber deployment
• Understanding of underground and aerial fiber construction practices
• Ability to read construction drawings, maps, permits, and redlines
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience tracking construction progress and production reporting
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable using mobile devices, tablets, cameras, and reporting software
• Valid driver\'s license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to travel daily within the assigned territory
