Job summary

WAVSYS is seeking an Outside Plant Construction Inspector to act as the quality gatekeeper on fiber network builds in the United States. You will review field constructions, verify alignment with blueprints, and enforce safety standards in busy outdoor sites.

The role requires hands-on inspection, familiarity with OSP practices, and strong communication with subcontractors. A high school diploma is required, with telecom training and BICSI credentials benefiting your application. On-site work.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSP construction inspection or field utility auditing within telecommunications.
• Broad knowledge of OSP construction standards, civil excavation practices, and telecom safety codes.
• Familiarity with fiber optic network components, aerial/underground installation techniques, and testing methods.
• Strong analytical ability with attention to detail to catch non-conformities early.
• Excellent written and oral communication for directing subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Proficient with standard field measurement devices, testing instruments, and field documentation software.
• High school diploma required; vocational or technical telecom training is a plus.
• Industry certifications such as a BICSI OSP Technician are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Engineering Compliance: inspect active OSP sites to verify compliance with blueprints and standards.
• Materials & Installation Evaluation: audit field activities and equipment installations against client benchmarks.
• Defect & Deviation Remediation: identify deviations and document corrective actions to maintain network integrity.
• Rigorous Safety Monitoring: ensure OSHA safety protocols and proper PPE at all times.
• Risk Mitigation: identify hazards and coordinate with crews to implement safety measures.
