Job summary

Ezee Fiber's Engineer II, OSP Engineering, supports design, documentation, and implementation of outside plant networks, blending fieldwork and office tasks to expand fiber and copper infrastructure. You'll collaborate with construction, permitting, GIS, and network planning to deliver scalable OSP designs that meet deadlines and regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in engineering or related field and 3–5 years in OSP engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and OSP

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods, permitting processes, and utility standards.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, splicing diagrams, and utility maps.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of fiber characterization, splicing techniques, and optical testing.
• Experience with OSP design tools such as 3-GIS, OSPInsight, or FiberBase.
• Understanding of make-ready engineering and NESC pole loading.
• Familiarity with broadband network design and FTTH/FTTP deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer OSP fiber routes using aerial, underground, and direct-buried methods.
• Create and maintain construction drawings, splicing schematics, and BOMs using CAD/GIS tools.
• Conduct field surveys, route verification, and feasibility assessments for permitting and ROW requirements.
• Prepare permit packages and coordinate with municipalities and utility companies.
• Support construction teams with design clarifications, redlines, and field modifications.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure and propose upgrades to optimize network performance.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, NEC, and other regulatory standards.
• Track project progress, report risks, and ensure deliverables meet quality, budget, and timeline targets.
• Collaborate with project management, operations, and network engineering for execution.
