MasTec Communications Group is recruiting an OSP Designer for a large-scale telecommunications project across the United States. The role focuses on outside plant design for fiber and copper networks, requiring experience with permitting, aerial, buried, and underground facilities, and collaboration with GIS and CAD teams to produce documentation for application packages.

Qualifications

• OSP engineering experience deploying fiber optic and copper networks
• Knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards
• 3+ years of OSP Design engineering experience
• 1+ years of QC review on OSP Design packages
• Proficient in AutoCAD, OCalc, 3-GIS
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Design cost-efficient fiber/copper network routes
• Read road prints and utility maps to identify conflicts
• Collaborate with GIS and CAD teams for documentation
• Follow procedures while adapting to changing standards
• Coordinate with project team for forecasting and scheduling
• Review deliverables and report risks to management
• Approve designs for submittal to customer
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications and guidelines
