Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking an OSP Designer to support large-scale telecom projects across the United States. The role requires experience with outside plant design in aerial, buried, and underground facilities, and a strong grasp of permitting processes and utility coordination.

You will work with GIS and CAD teams to produce documentation, review designs for accuracy, and ensure compliance with customer specifications while aligning with project schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Sound OSP engineering experience deploying fiber optic and Copper networks.
• Knowledge of engineering principles within the OSP field and industry standards.
• 3+ years of OSP Design engineering experience.
• 1+ years of QC review on OSP Design packages.
• Experience with client software systems and builds.

Responsibilities

• Complete site visits and design cost-efficient fiber/copper routes per client specs.
• Read road prints and maps to identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Collaborate with vendor, GIS and CAD teams to prepare application documentation.
• Follow established procedures while adapting to changing standards.
• Coordinate with project team for forecasting, scheduling and QA.
• Review deliverables and communicate risks and mitigations to management.
• Identify scope creep and manage change orders; assist with billing.
