Job summary

Supermicro seeks an OS Certification Engineer to perform operating system certification, compatibility testing, and compliance validation across enterprise server platforms and hardware components. You will execute Linux certification test suites (Red Hat, Ubuntu), validate system images, drivers, and firmware for hardware interoperability, and test networking stacks and PXE boot.

You will review logs, coordinate with hardware and BIOS teams, and help automate deployment and certification

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
1–3 years of experience in OS certification, Linux platform validation, or system QA testing.
Good foundational knowledge of server architecture, Linux operating systems, BIOS/UEFI settings, device drivers, and hardware interfaces.
Networking skills: strong understanding of configuring and diagnosing network interfaces, network boot processes (PXE), and core protocols.
Experience writing or modifying automation scripts using Python or Shell.

Responsibilities

OS Certification Execution: Run official Linux certification test suites on server platforms.
Platform Validation: Validate system images, drivers, kernel patches, and firmware for hardware interoperability.
Network & Driver Validation: Test server-level networking stacks, interface cards, and protocol compatibility (TCP/IP, DHCP, PXE).
Debugging & Log Analysis: Review logs to identify certification failures and coordinate findings with hardware and BIOS teams.
Automation Support: Use and maintain automated test scripts to streamline OS deployment and certification pipelines.
