The role requires hands-on work with plastics, metals, foams, and composites, using tools such as vacuum formers and 3D printers, while ensuring devices meet design specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in orthotics/prosthetics fabrication preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in an orthotic/prosthetic lab or similar fabrication environment preferred.
• Proficient in working with hand and power tools; understands materials and fabrication techniques; follows technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication & Assembly: Manufacture orthotic and prosthetic components from prescriptions or designs; use tools and equipment to create devices.
• Repair & Modification: Inspect, adjust, and repair devices to ensure proper fit and function; modify as needed.
• Quality Control: Check devices for accuracy, durability, and safety; maintain clean, safe workspace per OSHA guidelines.
• Collaboration: Work with Orthotists, Prosthetists, and clinicians to meet clinical intent and timelines.
• Inventory & Equipment Maintenance: Monitor materials, order replacements, and perform basic maintenance on fabrication equipment.
