Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Attend and satisfactorily complete continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistive devices and uses safe body mechanics.
• Educates patients and families using effective teaching methods.
• Designs and adjusts plans of care based on patient response and evidence.
• Documents care and outcomes in the EMR according to policy.
• Communicates with referring providers about progress and treatment recommendations.
• Applies therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis as appropriate.
• Performs range of motion and strength testing and documents results.
• Monitors and guides therapy staff to ensure quality care.
