Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Erie seeks an Orthopedics Technician I/Athletic Trainer to support physicians in orthopedic clinics. You will assist with wound care, procedures, phlebotomy, injections, and ultrasound support while ensuring accurate charting and patient preparation.

You will coordinate patient care under supervision, document health information, and may serve as a medical scribe as needed to maintain clinic workflow. Travel to satellite locations is required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Graduate from AHN approved Medical Assistant School within five years of hire OR graduate from accredited athletic training program.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure within 120 days of hire; complete training/testing within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and extenders in orthopedic practice locations.
• Perform wound care, dressings, EKGs, sutures/staple removal, casts/splints application/removal, injections, vaccines, phlebotomy, and ultrasound assistance.
• Prepare and room patients; document health information, history, medications; interview patients and order radiographs per protocols.
• Document in electronic health record; update allergy/medication lists and medical history; may function as a scribe when needed.
• Travel to satellite locations to support physicians; maintain clinic workflow and patient flow.
