Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant/Ortho Technician to support physicians across multiple practice locations. After training, you will perform wound care, EKGs, suture removal, cast care, injections, phlebotomy for PRP, and ultrasonic procedures, while assisting with ultrasound and patient preparation.

You will coordinate patient care under supervision, document health information in the EHR, educate patients on post-operative care, and travel to satellite

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure preferred.
• 3–5 years experience as an Ortho Technician, Medical Assistant, or ATC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with wound care, dressings, EKGs and cast care.
• Prepare patients, interview health information and order radiographs.
• Document in EHR and maintain clinic workflow; may act as a scribe.
• Travel to satellite locations to support physicians.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
