Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the N Wilkesboro Orthopedics clinic. The role involves patient prep, vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting physicians. Requires CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA certifications and BLS, graduation from MA program, and 1 year experience preferred.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional Saturday mornings. On-site in North Wilkesboro, NC. Benefits include Total Rewards, PTO, health benefits, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform routine and complex clinical tasks within MA scope.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Proficient with Windows and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and updating health information.
• Perform lab procedures (strep, wound culture, specimen collection).
• Assist Physician/APP with procedures.
• Administer routine medications per orders or standing protocols.
• Coordinate referrals and appointments; communicate with team.
• Support age-appropriate patient care and clinic flow.
