Qualifications

• Basic computer skills; able to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Reviews complete electronic and paper medical records of discharged patients.
• Assigns ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Abstracts coded data and patient information into the coding system.
• Uses Coding Clinic guidelines for ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Sequences codes and prioritizes daily work for timely submission.
• Participates in training programs on ICD-10-CM updates and Coding Clinic guidelines.
• Identifies/document issues and facilitates prompt resolution of coding/account problems.
