Job summary

Billings Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant I in Orthopedics for a per diem, day shift position in Billings, MT. The role provides essential patient care support and clerical assistance under supervision, contributing to high-quality clinical operations.

Starting wage is $17.00 to $21.25 per hour DOE. Under general supervision, you will collaborate with physicians, APPs, RNs, LPNs, and other staff to ensure smooth patient care and timely service in various clinic settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of MA residency or certification within 12 months of hire (if applicable).
• Medical Terminology, Medication History, and New Clinic Staff Class within 6 months and/or prior to testing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies based on patient needs and examinations.
• Assist with patient scheduling for appointments, tests, treatments, procedures, and surgeries; assist with registration and co-pay collection as necessary.
• Record patient histories and vital signs; assist with minor procedures and exams; maintain accurate medical records and HIPAA compliance.
• Collect and label lab specimens and administer basic vaccines to eligible patients 18+.
• Maintain infection control, equipment cleanliness, and proper handling of supplies.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

MA residency or certification within 12 months of hire
