Job summary

The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our Orthopedics service. The LVT will care for small animal inpatients, assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, and postoperative care, and mentor veterinary students and staff.

Applicants must be a Georgia-licensed veterinary technician or eligible for licensure, with a minimum two-year degree or professional certificate.

Qualifications

• Requires a Georgia-licensed veterinary technician or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum education: apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate.
• Experience in an Orthopedic veterinary setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend rounds and input on patient care.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and peri-operative care.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgery.
• Supervise students and maintain medical records.
